VIPAIRSOFT SUMMER CAMP FAQS
1. Who is the camp instructor?
Mike Simpson, the Director for Marauders Tactical Training and Phoenix International Security Group, will be leading the lessons and running the scenarios throughout camp along with his extensively trained team.
He has been conducting individual and team based training for civilian, law enforcement and military personnel since 1998.
Many of the skills and tactics developed for the training program are based on Mr. Simpson’s experience as a member of the US Air Force Security Forces and Assistant Team Leader on an Emergency Services Team.
2. When can I drop my child off?
Doors to the facility will open at 7:45am. Light breakfast items will be available.
3. What if I’m running late?
It is the campers’ responsibility to ensure they are checked in by 8am when class starts. Please call and the let the staff know that you are either running late or are unable to make it for that day. There are no “make up” days if you miss a day of camp. It is critical that campers are present for the day’s lesson plan so they can be included and knowledgable about the scenarios. If a camper misses the lesson, it is their responsibility to ask their fellow campers about the information. There will be small refreshers each day as to the previous lessons for Airsoft 101 and Spec Ops.
4. Why does my camper HAVE to have a uniform?
Uniforms are required for Spec Ops camp only. The uniforms help to keep the campers in a realistic state of mind and allow for easier identification of teams.
5. Where can I get a uniform?
You can purchase uniforms with the VIPAirsoft staff from the proshop or at a military surplus store.
6. Is there a carpool available?
There are not enough resources currently available and with liability/safety issues, the camp will not be offering a car pool option. It is therefore the campers’ responsibility to arrange for a ride to and from camp.
6. Why is there an age limit of 11?
The camp curriculum for Airsoft 101 and Spec Ops can be difficult for younger players to comprehend and follow. It is at the request of the instructors that players are at least 11 years old to participate. Some exceptions may apply on a case by case basis.
6. If my child already has a player waiver- why do they need a camp one?
Our general player waiver (the one you fill out each year) covers basic information whereas our camp waivers cover liability for our instructors and request additional health and media release information needed to host our camp programs.
